Avonbourne School

For September, Years 7 students will follow a thematic course which is being developed in-house, based on the new National Curriculum orders. Students in year 8 and 9 students follow a course based around the Heinemann Catalyst scheme. In Year 7 students are taught in mixed ability classes. However, as they move into Years 8 and 9 they are taught in groups that best suit their ability. Progress is monitored regularly through formative assessments and end of topic tests.
