In Religious Education we believe everyone is unique and of special value. We teach RE in a happy learning environment where pupils actively participate in lessons and have a positive, can-do attitude.
We aim to ensure that all pupils leave Avonbourne feeling confident to discuss challenging questions about the meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, moral issues and what it means to be human. We offer many opportunities for personal reflection and spiritual development and encourage pupils to develop the ability to be still and think deeply.
We strive to develop a sense of identity and belonging which will enable pupils to flourish as individuals within their communities and as citizens within a global society.
We believe the exciting and stimulating lessons on Christianity and other world religions will prepare pupils for life so they will be sensitive, tolerant and respectful to others especially to those whose faiths and beliefs are different from theirs.
