French
Throughout KS3 students build up confidence and ability to communicate at a basic level. They follow a topic based course which includes understanding and awareness of a different culture. As KS3 changes are taking place the curriculum is in the process of being redesigned.
Spanish
In Years 8 and 9, sets 1 and 2 study Spanish as an additional language for one hour per week. In July a group of 45 students accompanied by staff will be going to St Martin de Bréhal, France for 4 days on a study visit. They will experience French culture and will take part in cultural visits. Years 8 and 9 take part on an exchange with our partner school, College St Joseph, Cholet, France. This link has been established some 15 years ago and is very successful.
