Year10
|
Unit one Texture and shape
Techniques and skills in 2 and 3D mediums are covered in this unit building on existing skills and introducing new processes. Pupils are encouraged to constantly analyse their own work and the work of others. Responses are written and verbal.
Pupils research and collect images and information on the artist Andy Goldsworthy. This is collated and pupils own thoughts and evaluation are added. Critical studies are a key element of the marking criteria and are covered in every unit.

Unit two Mock Exam (4 weeks preparation. 10 hours exam time during which pupils will complete one final piece)
Pupils are introduced to the exam question and the work of the artists they will be linking their exam question with. They will then spend 4 weeks preparing for the exam completing work in a range of materials linking their ideas with the work of the artists. Pupils are encouraged to constantly analyse their own work and the work of others.
Pupils research and collect images and information on the artists they have studied. This is collated and pupils own thoughts and evaluation are added.

Unit Three Cubism/still life
Pupils are introduced to the theme ‘Still Life’ and the work of Cubist artists. They will then complete work in a range of materials linking their ideas with the work of the artists. The focus of this unit is to develop further pupil’s drawing skills. .
Pupils research and collect images and information on the artists involved in the Cubist Art movement.

Unit 4 exam. (4 weeks preparation. 10 hours exam time during which pupils will complete one final piece)
Pupils are issued with a range of open ended exam choices they will have to make discriminating judgements about the most suitable question. They will then prepare for the exam completing work in a range of materials linking their ideas with the work of the artists.
Pupils research and collect images and information on the artist that they have chosen to study. This is collated and pupils own thoughts and evaluation are added.
