Avonbourne School is one of the highest profile Business and Enterprise schools in the county. As the coordinating school for Enterprise throughout Dorset, we are constantly in touch with primary schools, secondaries, special schools, colleges and businesses.
We are a forward thinking and innovative Business and Enterprise establishment. The 5 main strands of the Enterprise focus are:

- Making Things Happen and
- Risk-taking.
These are the qualities we want our students to develop in all of their school lives, in and out of the classroom. Every subject has embedded these enterprise attitudes, and we award certificates, backed by Dorset Business, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at both key stages. There are 12 fully-fledged mini-companies in the school, and we have been awarded Young Chamber status. We led the Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset bid to become an Enterprise Learning Partnership.
