Our local development education centre Development Education in Dorset (DEED) has been working in partnership with schools, pre-schools, Initial teacher Education providers, childminders’ networks, nurseries, community group, youth services, Bournemouth University, Local Education Authorities, Fairtrade Networks and other groups and individuals across Dorset since 1983. 

The DCSF Global Gateway is the gateway to educational partnerships between schools and colleges across the world. It features a free partner-finding database of schools and colleges worldwide, in addition to a wealth of curriculum resources and links to a variety of supporting schemes and organisations including: the International School Award; teaching British identity in a global context; ICT advice to link with your partner via email, web or chat; regional support database to help with school linking, CPD and resources; sport activities to support internationalism; festivals and special days; case studies in schools.

Link Community Development (LCD) is a group of organisations in Africa, the UK and Ireland. LCD works to improve the quality of education for children in Ethiopia, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda and Malawi by working in partnership with local communities and education departments. It also facilitates partnerships between schools in the UK and schools in Africa. The aim is to give children in the UK the opportunity to learn about real life in Africa, to build lasting relationships, deepen their knowledge of global issues and strengthen their understanding of their own relationship with and impact on the world.

ActionAid offers a range of services for UK schools. Use ActionAid’s award-winning resources for primary and secondary schools. The Chembakolli materials focus on a small village in south India. Other materials explore life in parts of Asia, Africa, and South America.

The British Council connects people worldwide with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK and builds lasting relationships between the UK and other countries.
