Garden of Reflection

A quiet space for reflection in the middle of school, inspired by the Middle East

Students in Yr 9 and 10 including the international links perfect Irene Tsang joined governors, contractors, staff and special guests Mr Yasin and Mr Palmer from the Bournemouth Islamic Centre for the official opening of the Garden of Reflection this week. Mr Palmer said

“It’s so good to see students learning about different cultures and countries and this garden is just such a fantastic resource”

This special area of the school has been inspired through the close work with Kingdom School in Saudi Arabia, part of the connecting classroom British Council project and included teacher visits and collaboration on various student projects. Following on from the last visit, a school-wide student competition was held on a garden design and the winning entry was selected which was turned into reality earlier this year.

The Garden of reflection will contain student art and poetry, all inspired by the Middle Eastern partnership and be available for classes and students.

The garden is a special place to pause & reflect
