Background info to Nanhai No.1 Middle School

The educational environment in Nanhai No.1 Middle School is among the best in China. The office, teaching and science buildings as well as the gym are all well equipped. Also, we have other advanced facilities; the Internet Centre, library, music hall and a sports field with a 300 meters rubber running track. An indoor competition standard swimming pool will be constructed soon and this will use the most advanced materials and techniques available.

Students in Nanhai No.1 Middle School always achieve excellent results in the college entrance exams and many kinds of competitions, thus Nanhai No.1 Middle School has always been called the cradle of the high quality students. Many move on to join the best universities. There are many different kinds of groups in Nanhai No.1 Middle School, such as the poetry society, literature society, choir and dance society. Also, there are a lot of activities held every year, for example, sports festivals, technology events, Chinese and English speaking competitions and singing competitions. These activities are mostly organized by the Students’ Union, thus improving the students’ own organizational ability.

Nanhai No.1 Middle School always provides a good environment for students to learn English in for example, graduates of famous foreign universities often work as teachers . Every year some teachers are selected to travel to Britain for a 3-month or one-year period of further study. Moreover, Nanhai No.1 middle school is regularly visited by foreign experts and professors. This year we have one teacher teaching Chinese in Perth, Scotland for one year.
